Thanks to the Trinity Outreach Ministry team of Maeve, Lyle, James, Cindy, Kathleen, JB, Kelly, Ron, Rob and coordinator Jim Svara for your contribution to the community wide effort on January 26 to determine the number of homeless persons in Phoenix. This is a systematic survey that seeks to determine where homeless persons are and are not. One of our teams identified five homeless persons around Van Buren and 31st Ave. The other teams did not find anyone, but our careful searching still contributes to understanding the nature of homelessness in the city. This survey, for which Phoenix is a national model, helps determine the level of support for social services for the homeless.
