Trinity Episcopal Cathedral
Dear Friends,
As we immerse ourselves in the abundant celebration of the Trinity Cathedral Centennial year, we have a rare opportunity to see the blessings of our vibrant past while looking forward to a bright and hopeful future. We have lived into the expansive grace of God’s kingdom through our careful stewardship of all we do.
When we gather to worship God we also recognize our responsibility to one another and to our greater community. The people of Trinity have expanded our worship with a multitude of in-person and virtual offerings. The love of God, as we know and express it at Trinity, is never far from the reach of anyone. Together we bless God, we bless one another, and we bless the world.
In this season of thoughtful re-gathering, Trinity Cathedral recognizes the importance of fellowship and belonging. While our congregation’s founders took pride in building a church in an ever-growing city, they also believed in a great vision of a cathedral — one that serves as a beacon of God’s love for the entire region. The author John Stott describes Trinity well when he writes, “A healthy Christian fellowship includes people of all types, backgrounds, and ages, and there are new depths of friendship and mutual sharing to be discovered.” At Trinity Cathedral you unequivocally and indisputably belong!
Together we have been led to a new realization of Christ’s call upon our hearts. We are called to serve the world and love our neighbors as ourselves. With the commitment to serve our neighbors, the cathedral community responds to Jesus in a specific and unified way. Hungry children are fed. Our unsheltered neighbors find places of refuge and care. The people of Phoenix know that the Trinity community stops at nothing to see that all people are given the opportunity to be fully participatory in society. When we are called to serve the world, the people of Trinity take the call seriously.
You have been exceptionally faithful stewards of Trinity. During this celebratory year, we need your prayers, your participation, and your financial support as we look toward our future. Your stewardship commitment for 2022 is vital to continue this work in the world.
A commitment card and a return envelope is included with this letter You may also respond below to make your financial commitment today. Our future is blessed. Our future is bright. Join us in this stewardship campaign. Let’s have a most illuminating year, as we celebrate Trinity’s Centennial!
In Christ’s peace and love,
The Very Reverend Troy D. Mendez, Dean
