Alternative Arrival Route
Take 7th Avenue to Trinity this morning. Instead of Central or 7th Street. When you get to 3rd Avenue approaching Trinity, go North 1 block (where Pita Jungle is) and then take Portland Street to get into the parking garage.

Trinity Cathedral’s Centennial Website

Trinity Cathedral celebrated the 100th anniversary of the completion of the Cathedral building in 1920 through a series of events and projects from September 2021 to June 2022.  (Our celebration was delayed by one year due to the pandemic.) This micro website reflects the time and effort of the congregation and partners who came together to commemorate this milestone. On this page you will find a calendar of all Centennial events, a presentation on special music commissioned for the Centennial, an historical timeline of Trinity’s development in parallel with the city of Phoenix and our hopes for the future in this place, video presentations on oral history, Trinity’s roots in the non-profit community and other lectures and talks, our Centennial time capsule to be opened in 2071, clergy interviews, and a photo gallery showing how we celebrated. Please enjoy all that has been collected here.

We stand in awe and wonder at the goodness of God, and marvel at Trinity Cathedral, a place that is truly God’s creation – a place of refuge and hope for our world.  Most notably, a place we call home!

Centennial Music Commissions

The Cathedral’s music department embarked upon an ambitious project to commission three new compositions to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Trinity Cathedral, for choir, organ and congregation alike.  Learn more about each piece and its specific role in the liturgical sweep of the year.

Trinity Cathedral in Phoenix: A Timeline

Take a look at Trinity’s journey as it parallels the growth of Phoenix beginning before the 1900s leading up to and beyond the present day.

The Trinity Prophet Project

As part of the timeline project, we asked the congregation where they thought Trinity Cathedral and the city of Phoenix would be between now and 2040 and beyond. All of the ideas received on sticky notes or an online form are posted here. A summary of these ideas is featured on the 2020-2040 timeline.

Centennial Video Collection

Videos of key presentations, including an oral history project “In Our Own Words,” a feature on “Trinity’s Roots in the Community,” and recorded lectures and talks.

Centennial Time Capsule

A time capsule was assembled by members of the congregation and blessed by Bishop Jennifer Reddall on Christmas Eve 2021 for installation in the Trinity columbarium. Read about the selection process and the items that are included.
