OLNEY GALLERY
The Olney Gallery is part of the campus at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral. It is a well-lit rectangular room that connects the Cathedral to offices and other gathering places. Prior to the late 1990’s, this room was a portrait gallery which displayed paintings and photographs of bishops and clergy. In 2000, members of the congregation formed a Visual Arts Ministry and at that time the gallery began to be part of First Fridays on Roosevelt.
APPLY TO SHOW YOUR ART
The Visual Arts Ministry reviews requests to show in the gallery and in early spring creates the yearly calendar of exhibits. The Visual Arts Ministry is made up of volunteers who also coordinate the First Friday artist receptions. One third of all art sales goes to the Cathedral and used to maintain the gallery and cover expenses. Our goal is to maintain the high standard of great art exhibits in the Olney Gallery. We strive to be one of the premier art galleries in Arizona and to well-represent our progressive minded congregation. As stated by Canon Mark Sutherland “We embrace the city through our ministries of music, the arts and social outreach. Ministry to the arts is an important service to civic life that cathedrals, in particular are able to offer.”

THE ART OF TRINITY CATHEDRAL
TRINITY CATHEDRAL WINDOWS
The Cathedral is built with an air of simple elegance and dignity. The space is adorned with an extraordinary collection of stained glass windows that support the “Trinity,” Cathedral’s namesake. Two Rose, north / south windows, a Baptistery, Choir, and nine Nave windows make this collection timeless in its design and theological concepts. The original set of windows was executed and installed in 1966 and 1967. The north Rose window was destroyed by fire in 2002 and a second was designed and installed in 2004.
The Cathedral sanctuary is not open to the public except during services and other events.

LABYRINTH
The courtyard at Trinity Cathedral is a desert meditation garden enjoyed by both parishioners and visitors. The focus of the garden is a labyrinth built of paver bricks. It styled on the most famous of medieval labyrinths, the one at the Cathedral of Chartres in France.
