In response to the rapid dehumanization we have seen of so many persons and people groups in the past year or two, Trinity Cathedral launched the RE-Humanization Project in January 2025. Nearly 50 people attended our first gathering, expressing anguish, fear, and a need for solidarity with one another as we faced many uncertainties.
We knew our obligation was to build unity and promote dignity in all we do as a way to combat dehumanization. We began with meetings to discern our path and landed on starting a series of Prayer Vigils – because Jesus is the center of why we are doing this work. Our first was on the 4th of July, followed by Labor Day, and then in November honoring Veterans. Our vigils are also live-streamed for supporters who aren’t local to Phoenix.
In addition, we’ve launched a Short Story Club to learn about humanization together through the medium of short stories. We are looking toward a Civil Dialogue training in 2026, continued Vigils, and finding new ways to serve and love one another too as we learn and grow together.
All are welcome.
