Building Unity & Promoting Dignity in a world that dehumanizes and divides.

In response to the rapid dehumanization we have seen of so many persons and people groups in the past year or two, Trinity Cathedral launched the RE-Humanization Project in January 2025. Nearly 50 people attended our first gathering, expressing anguish, fear, and a need for solidarity with one another as we faced many uncertainties.

We knew our obligation was to build unity and promote dignity in all we do as a way to combat dehumanization. We began with meetings to discern our path and landed on starting a series of Prayer Vigils – because Jesus is the center of why we are doing this work. Our first was on the 4th of July, followed by Labor Day, and then in November honoring Veterans, and in January 2026, honoring the vision of Beloved Community that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr promoted. Our vigils are also live-streamed for supporters who aren’t local to Phoenix.

In addition, we’ve launched a Short Story Club to learn about humanization together through the medium of short stories. We are looking toward a Civil Dialogue training, continued Vigils, and finding new ways to serve and love one another too as we learn and grow together.

All are welcome.

Let us Pray:
Almighty and Ever living God, we come before you with heavy hearts, seeking your divine presence and guidance in these challenging times. We lift up to you all those who have been impacted by dehumanizing actions and events. Grant them strength, comfort, and the assurance of your love, that they may find healing and hope amidst their suffering. We pray for those who participate in such actions. Form in them the mind of Christ that they may be touched by your grace and transformed by your love. Open their eyes to the humanity of others and guide them towards paths of compassion and understanding. We also hold in our prayers the lawmakers and leaders who have the authority to enact change. Inspire them to display their humanity and wisdom, to make decisions that uphold the dignity and worth of every person, and to lead with justice and mercy. We remember especially all events that have caused pain and division. We pray for peace and dignity for all persons involved, that reconciliation and healing may prevail. In all things, may we be instruments of your peace, working towards a world where love and justice reign. In the name of our Savior Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen. Oremos:
