Children and Youth Christian Education and Formation

Sunday School for children in K-5 is during the first half of our 10 a.m. and Noon services on Sundays during the program year in the Auditorium. We gather at the base of the stairs in the Olney Gallery and go up together as worship is beginning.

Children learn through the Weaving God’s Promises curriculum, which is detailed below. The children return to the sanctuary in time to receive communion with their families.

Youth in middle or high school are welcome to participate in our worship service by volunteering as lectors, who read the lessons during worship, or acolytes, including carrying the torches as part of the processions.

Some of us are active in the life of our diocese (our wider governing community), getting to know other youth around our church, through summer camp, faith in action (outreach and service), and social and fellowship events. We also enjoy fellowship with each other in our group of youth here a Trinity.

Weaving God’s Promises is a program of faith formation and development which seeks to holds as a foundation how God’s promises of love and transformation are woven throughout our lives. The goal is to offer to children the way of Christ, not only in the church but also in the world. Through this, we seek to foster the spiritual formation and growth of our children in Christ’s love and mercy, to teach the spirit of forgiveness and reconciliation, and to send our children out into the world as Christ’s ambassadors.
